Orjaku Harbour
30 May 2026

The Garfish Festival, held at Orjaku Harbour, is a traditional fish festival organised every year on the last Saturday of May in honour of the garfish that comes to spawn in the Baltic Sea.
An important part of the festival is the garfish trolling competition, which has been held for 15 years and is the largest recreational fishing event in Estonia by number of participants, with up to 300 people taking part.
Visitors can enjoy the taste of fish throughout the day at the fair, where all kinds of local fish delicacies are offered. The festival also features interesting lectures, performers and workshops. There are activities for the whole family. While the experienced fishermen are catching fish out at sea, younger fishing enthusiasts can take part in an angling competition near the festival area, at Puulaiu Canal.
Registration for the trolling competition begins in early April.
